SINGAPORE — Residents at Woodlands Ave 6 received a shock on Friday (Sept 16) afternoon, when they found a car had crashed into the lift landing of Block 791.
A Mediacorp hotline caller, who lives at nearby block 788, said the car's front was badly damaged.
"I was walking past at around 3.30pm ... I saw police officers at the block and this car was stopped at the lift landing. I was quite shocked … and concerned because sometimes, there are children playing in the area at the time," he said, declining to reveal his name.
The Singapore Civil Defence Force said they were alerted at 3.15pm about the incident. They said a Chinese man in his 60s had been assessed with minor injuries. He had refused to be sent to hospital.
Block 791 is located next to the multi-storey carpark. There is a small staircase that links the carpark to the block. It appeared that the driver had lost control of his car while in the carpark, resulting in the accident, the Mediacorp hotline caller said.
The police said investigations are ongoing.
