BBC America has unleashed the first trailer for the revamped Top Gear and it's sick.
Or, we should say, new hosts Chris Evans and Matt LeBlanc are sick, as in under the weather.
A sneezy LeBlanc is shown suffering a cold while driving an open-top car in the rain — or was it from driving a stars-and-stripes-themed Reliant Rialto? (The British carmaker's quirky, three-wheeled clunkers are a running[1]joke[2] on the show.)
We have to give the show credit for acknowledging some of the early road bumps. The trailer actually includes footage of a carsick Evans, who had a hard time adjusting to talking on camera in a speeding car. (Note to self: Don't eat a bunch of strawberries before strapping into an Audi R8 V10 driven by German race-car driver Sabine Schmitz.)
Ex-Formula 1 driver Jensen Button also returns to the show, taking Evans for a ride in a McLaren 675LT. Other cars featured include the Aston Martin Vulcan, Ferrari F12 TDF, Ariel Nomad, Dodge Viper ACR, Zenos E10 and the venerable Land Rover Defender Series 1.
And true to Top Gear's globetrotting style, there's footage from France, Morocco, Scotland, Nevada and California.
