Tom Hanks alerts police about serial parking ticket offender

A driver who let several parking tickets pile up on his windshield in Manhattan got a Twitter nudge from Oscar-award winning actor Tom Hanks Saturday morning.

The "Forrest Gump" and "Da Vinci Code" actor posted a picture[1] of the burgundy sedan, with the message, "Sir? Move. Your. Car! Hanx."

NYPD Assistant Commissioner for Communication and Public Information J. Peter Donald responded to Hanks two hours later, asking where the car was parked.

"Thanks for the flag @tomhanks," he wrote.

Cops weren't able to establish the exact location, but believe the car was parked somewhere within the 19th Precinct, which covers the Upper East Side.

Police determined that all the summonses on the window had already been paid.

A police source said that the driver probably paid the tickets online but never cleared them off the windshield.
