- The Purseat is billed as a 'revolutionary device', which can deployed in seconds for planes, cars or taxis
- Costing upwards of £180, it has launched via crowd-funding site Kickstarter[1] and plans to be on sale by 2018
- Creator David Li said the invention was inspired by the sight of his wife struggling with back pains on trips
Travelling with children can be difficult at the best of times, with the demands of making sure they're safely seated and able to sleep on planes, trains and automobiles capable of making even the most patient parent lose their cool.
Step forward the Purseat: a brand new product so-called because it's a car seat and it doubles as a travelling bed and handy booster. And, for good measure, it's a handbag, too.
If the product is successful at placating the nation's little darlings in multiple travel scenarios - and able to ease some muscle ache along the way - it might just be a game-changer.

Four birds with one stone! The Purseat offers four handy functions, which should aid increased comfor t on lengthy trips
Currently launching via Kickstarter, the finished product is expected to be on sale by the end of the year.
Developed in the Netherlands, the simple contraption has four settings and costs £180.
By pulling out the head-rest and lifting up the back-rest it becomes a car seat. Then, by pulling down the back-rest it morphs in to a travelling bed, while removing the back-rest instantly transforms it into a booster seat.
Lightweight and robust, it's also designed to be compact, meaning it consumes a minimum amount of space and can be stored in all over-head storage units on planes.
Now you see it, now you don't! Lightweight and robust, it's also designed to be compact, meaning it consumes a minimum amount of space and can be stored in all over-head storage units on planes
Yep, it fits: When folded down, the invention is deliberately sized to fit into the maximum dimensions for in-cabin luggage
Sleep on it: By pulling down the back-rest, it quickly morphs into a convenient travelling bed - and fits between plane seats
It also comes with durable carry handles, ensuring it's easily portable.
Marketing copy reads: 'For parents looking to eliminate the hassle of lugging around heavy car seats, Purseat is an innovative car seat that is easy to travel with, complies with all safety regulations and folds to the size of a purse or handbag.'
However, to date it has only received €3,142 of its ambitious €100,000 goal - with 49 days of fundraising remaining.

Keepsakes: The additional storage space allows users to carry toys for their youngsters, so they're always entertained
The device's creator, David Li, said: 'My wife was developing back pains from regularly transferring large, heavy car seats from one car to the other.
'When we were travelling with our children, there seemed to be no easy way to take the car seat with us, which meant we would have to rent an expensive and often filthy car seat locally.
'I was also running a parenting shop in Amsterdam where we would constantly get parents asking us for car seats that were easier to travel with.'
Mass market? To date, the Purseat's Kickstarter campaign has only received €3,142 of its ambitious €100,000 goal
