Tesla news, Top Gear issues, Ram truck rumors, and more. Senior Editor Greg Migliore reports on this edition of Autoblog Minute.
[00:00:30] has left some questioning his work ethic. This week we just saw a trailer that came out and even with Evans' puking, which is in the trailer, the show looks pretty good. How's it all gonna turn out? We'll have to wait for the premiere, which is just a couple months away.
We're again hearing that Ram might do a midsize pickup truck. This would replace the old Dakota that was worn under the Dodge badge but has since gone out of production. Mike Manley told the Detroit News in March that there's opportunity for
[00:01:00] Ram to do something in this segment. Right now when you think of Ram you think of the 1500, which is one of the best fullsize trucks on the market. To attract new consumers a smaller entry might be the way to go.
Tesla revealed the Model 3 this week out in California to great fanfare. This is one of the most anticipated vehicles of the year. Here are some of the basic specs: 215 miles per charge on electricity, 0 to 60 in under 6 seconds, and it has room for five. It will start
[00:01:30] at $35K before incentives and deliveries start in late 2017. As exciting as all of this is, Tesla still faces challenges with the Model 3. One hundred thousand orders, more than that, is a lot to fill and this is a company that has a history of delays.
Those are the highlights from the week that was. Be sure to come back this Saturday for my full recap where I'll have additional insight into the launch of the Tesla Model 3. For Autoblog, I'm Greg Migliore.
