Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal believes his team still have lot to fight for this season, and has insisted that finishing in the top three is still a possibility.
Van Gaal's men scored a morale boosting 1-0 win over Manchester City in the local derby just before the international break, and it gave their dimming top four hopes a renewed sense of purpose.
They are now just a point off the Premier League top four, but Van Gaal has loftier ambitions than just securing the final Champions League berth this season.
He insisted that despite an inconsistent season, his team can still break into the top three, and finish the season on a high with an FA Cup win. He urged his charges to make their intentions clear against Everton on Sunday.
The Manchester United manager said in a press conference: "Still we are capable of being in the top three in the league at this moment and we believe in that, the players believe in that.
"We can also win the FA Cup, so we have a lot to fight for.
"I hope that we show it already in the first match because that is the most important match as you have to continue what you have done against City."
Manchester United will play five of their eight remaining league games at home, and will be banking on their record at Old Trafford to finish the season on a high.
