Get your kids ready, NASCAR fans (or at least your DVR) – Jeff Gordon is making an appearance on the Disney Channel on Friday morning (9 a.m. ET).

Testing out his voice acting skills, Gordon is guest starring on the channel's new animated show, "Mickey and the Roadster Racers," playing a race car driver who Goofy might accidentally turn into a rabbit.

But Gordon – who is set to appear in several episodes – isn't the first NASCAR driver to star in Disney's auto racing-themed show. Although it's only a few weeks old, defending Cup Series Champion Jimmie Johnson already voiced a character in the premiere episode, and Danica Patrick will be in one airing later this year.

But what makes Gordon "perfect" in this?

"The thing we liked about Jeff was his energy and his enthusiasm," said Mark Seidenberg, co-executive producer and head writer of the show. "When we got him in the booth, we asked him to be himself – just use his voice. We didn't want him to put on any cartoon voice; we just wanted him to be himself.

"And when [we] showed him the artwork of what he was going to look like, I think he threw himself more into the performance, and he turned out to be a great personality."
