Experts say the ostentatious decal  - which also covers the car's alloys - would have set the owner back at least £3,000

A DEVOTED Brit has spent thousands of pounds turning their £110,000 Bentley into the most patriotic car in the country – by covering it with the Union Jack.

The expensive car was spotted outside The Venue Leisure Centre in Borehamwood, Hertfordshire,[1] on Wednesday morning.

Pure patriotism … Brit plastered Union Jack over £110,000 Bentley

The 2004 Bentley Continental GT Auto[2] is wrapped in the Union sticker design, alloys included.

Bemused witness Yvonne Murray, 49, snapped pictures of the patriotic vehicle on her way to an exercise class.

Speaking on the sighting, the 49-year-old said: "I was running late for my class but I had to stop and take a picture.

Ostentatious … experts say the decal would have set the owner back £3,000

"It was just parked out the front of the leisure centre, it was a bit unusual seeing it there.

"I was pretty surprised.

"I don't know who owns it but I haven't seen it here before."

It is estimated the Union Jack decal, which covers the body of the entire car along with its bonnet and alloys, would have set the owner back by at least £3,000.

Originally painted black, the two-door Bentley has 552bhp and a top speed of 198mph.

Bentleys are renowned for their prestige and hefty price tags, and are crafted in Crewe.

Earlier this week, hundreds of French-speaking gypsies sparked fury by pitching up on a playing field in a picturesque village in Kent[3] – with flash cars including a top-of-the-range Bentley.

Around 40 caravans took up residence in Kemsing, near Sevenoaks, Kent, arriving on Saturday night.

Onlookers said the ground had been badly torn up by the flash cars.

In a tweet sent to Sevenoaks District Council, David Global wrote: "Come and see the gypsies in Kemsing, hundreds of them, human waste everywhere […] some Xmas."

In another tweet to Kent Police Sevenoaks, he added: "Travellers from illegal camp in Kemsing entering local back gardens, what are you doing about it?"

Sevenoaks District Council said the removal of the campers was the responsibility of Kemsing Parish Council – who own the land.
