A 90-year-old woman has died after being hit by a car in Stoke-on-Trent.
Staffordshire Police said the woman was taken to hospital after being hit on Longton Hall Road in the Blurton area of the city at about 11:20 GMT on Saturday.
She later died from her injuries.
A spokesman said the man driving the car had been arrested but police would not say what he was arrested on suspicion of.
Ch Insp Darren Oakey said officers are investigating the incident and appealed for any witnesses to come forward.
