LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- A suspected robber was arrested on I-71 when his car flipped during a police pursuit.

The Louisville Metro Police Department responded to a robbery at a U.S. Bank, located in the 300 block of Whittington Parkway.

LMPD said their preliminary investigation revealed a white male entered the bank with a knife and demanded cash.  The suspect fled with an undetermined amount of cash.

Shortly after that, police said, the officers located a get-away vehicle, a Ford Explorer on I-264 near I-71. The explorer fled eastbound on I-264 and crashed near Zorn Avenue.

The suspect was taken to University Hospital with what are believed to be non-life threatening injuries.

North and southbound lanes of I-71 were closed near Zorn Avenue due to the crash. Drivers were asked to find another route. 

The LMPD Robbery Unit is investigating. LMPD said they have not ruled out this individual maybe responsible for other robberies.
