And the winner is… Kathie Lee Gifford! Our own KLG took home the gold at the Gracies on Tuesday night where she won the top prize for On-Air Talent: Entertainment for her work on NBC's "Today" show. She hit the ceremony with her kids Cody and Cassidy and good pal Christine.
HK: This is a huge award! It's for best host of an entertainment program, which she is.
KLG: You're only as good as your co-host.
HK: Interesting, there's only one of us who got it. Anyway …
Kathie Lee & Hoda: High heel dress code is silly[1]
KLG: She got another award for best host of a radio show!
HK: Radio is one thing, but this is TV! OK, let's focus because this is a big one.
KLG: I've had a big one once in a while.
HK: She tested her speech out on me — it's only a minute — but it shows you that if you choose your words wisely that you can have humor, emotion and everything else in just 60 seconds.

KLG: This is the line I opened with: "When I was growing up, my daddy said find something you love to do and then figure out a way to get paid for it. So I thought to myself, there's only two options, show business or hooker." I'm just really happy my kids are coming with me.
HK: That's sweet that you guys are going together.
KLG: It's nice when kids like their parents — and it wasn't always this way! For me, there's nothing better than time with them.
Kathie Lee & Hoda: McDonald's new test menu is a colossal mistake[4]
HK: Where do you keep the awards?
KLG: Where the sun don't shine.
HK: Oh that leaves a lot of choices ...
KLG: No, really, our library doesn't get a lot of sun!
Kathie Lee & Hoda: We are lucky to have such loving moms[5]
Letting a baby "cry it out" won't cause long-term emotional or behavioral damage, a new study says.
(szefei)BATTLE CRY OF LI'L BOSS
Letting a baby "cry it out" won't cause long-term emotional or behavioral damage, according to a new study out of Australia.
KLG: They have to do it!
HK: Did you do that?
KLG: You have to! Or they will control you for the rest of their lives. Babies learn to comfort themselves. And as a parent you learn what's a hurting cry compared to a "I'm wet and covered in poop cry" as opposed to the "I am going to ruin your night" kind of cry. Once you tell the difference, you've got to let them work it out.
HK: Wasn't it painful?
KLG: It's painful because you think you're being a terrible parent, but actually you're being a great parent. Kids aren't going to always have their parents around, this is something they have to learn. You either self-soothe or self-medicate.
HK: You mean either they self-soothe or you self-medicate!
Paris Jackson's new tattoo.
(Instagram)AIN'T NO TAT-TLE TALES
We don't have any tattoos — stop asking us — but Paris Jackson's new ink[6] got us thinking about what we might have permanently drawn on our bodies.
KLG: It's generational for me. No woman had tattoos really when I was growing up — it was considered a trashy thing to do.
HK: OK, so where is yours?
KLG: Where the sun don't shine.
HK: But if you were going to get one, what would you get?
KLG: I don't know — Jesus, Frank, Cassidy, Cody, my mother and Bambino. So, basically, just one of our Christmas cards and stick it where the sun don't shine!
HK: I would probably get a fleur-de-lis for New Orleans, somewhere people wouldn't see it.
KLG: Inner thigh?
HK: Hey, people see that area!
KLG: Every Fleet Week — and what do you know, it's coming up! Those ships come in and Hoda goes out.
HK: You are really gross.
Florence Welch of Florence and the Machine gave a surprise performance for a Texas teen in hospice care.
(Tim Mosenfelder/Getty Images)GOTTA GO WITH FLO!
We're so moved by the video of Florence Welch of Florence + the Machine and her sweet surprise performance for a Texan teen fan who is in hospice care.
KLG: What a moment.
HK: Tells you everything you need to know about Florence, right? There was magic in that room. You feel it as soon as you watch them sing together. Something amazing happened there. I always liked her, but when you see this, come on. She's got heart.
You can now call her Professor Jolie.
(Jemal Countess/Getty Images)ANGIE HAS GOT CLASS
Add professor to the list of Angelina Jolie's accomplishments — the Oscar-winner will teach at the London School of Economics[7] as part of the school's "Women, Peace and Security" program.
KLG: And unlike a lot of people, she's got important things to say. I would want to hear her.
HK: Me too. She really walks the walk.
Candace Payne wore a Chewbacca and made the internet happy.
(Candace Payne/Facebook )CAN'T MASK CHEWIE JOY
Candace Payne got in her car, put on a Chewbacca mask and filled the internet with happiness.
HK: I love her!
KLG: She's completely full of joy.
HK: Haven't you been there, just alone in your house and you can't stop laughing? You're not doing it for anyone, in response to anyone, it's just all you, alone. And that's her, pure joy personified.
KLG: There is something so lovable about her.
HK: And if you want to know if laughter is contagious, the answer is yes. Try and watch that video and not instantly feel like you're in a better mood.
