The all-new Top Gear starts this Sunday (May 29), with Clarkson, Hammond and May having been replaced by a 'squad' of seven new presenters.
Despite the long-awaited and high-profile debut, however, not all of the new co-hosts will be making their on-screen bow during the series opener. At least one - former YouTuber Chris Harris - will be skipping the curtain raiser.
"I'm not in the first show," he said, speaking with Digital Spy. "The protection continues for me, something I'm quite comfortable with."
With much speculation surrounding exactly how the new Top Gear would manage to squeeze its hearty roster of presenters into every hour-long episode, Harris cleared up the new system.
"We dot in and out," he told us. "Chris and Matt lead the show, and then you've got five others - four of us talk and one wears a white suit - and we are drafted in as and when we're needed, and our role is right for that particular car.
"I'm in several shows and very happy with the amount of exposure I'm going to get, and I'm very happy with the product I'm going to be with.
"I'm with the cars that I want to drive and think are exciting and visceral. That's how it works, we will be called upon when we're needed and I expect you will be represented in the studio in the episodes you're in, that's the way it will be."
With the new series kicking off this Sunday at 8pm with a bumper episode packed with a trio of mini-films, Chris Evans, Matt LeBlanc, Sabine Schmitz and The Stig are all set to make lengthy appearances.
It's currently unclear whether or not fellow co-hosts Eddie Jordan and Rory Reid will make a day-one appearance.
