Twenty Connecticut Catholic high schools are the best in the state for 2016[1], according to online ranking website Niche.com.
The site based its list on factors such as "SAT/ACT scores, the quality of colleges that students consider, student-teacher ratio, student and parent reviews, and more."
New Milford's Canterbury School is tops in the state, followed by Fairfield Prep, Marianapolis Prep in Thompson, Sacred Heart Academy in Hamden and Academy of Our Lady of Mercy - Lauralton Hall in Milford.
The website adds, "This grade takes into account key factors such as the strength of academics, school culture and diversity, as well as student and parent reviews, in an attempt to measure the overall excellence of the school."

The nation's top Catholic high school[3] is Regis High School in New York City, followed by Cistercian Prep in Southwest Dallas, Delbarton School in Morris Township, NJ, Sacred Heart Schools Atherton in Atherton, CA, and Convent of the Sacred Heart also in NYC.
Connecticut's Canterbury School also made the country's top 100 list at no. 26, the only Catholic high school in the state to receive national ranking.
