There are certain things you just shouldn't trust soap characters to do: stay faithful, manage their finances successfully and most of all, drive properly.
Coronation Street ended a very emotional week with a bang - well, it was more of a crash, lots of smashing sounds and then a bang...
What happened was resident 'troubled individual' David Platt flipped his car[1], injuring himself, his daughter Lucy and Gary Windass before everyone came to the rescue - and then the car exploded setting poor Anna ablaze[2].

Spoilers, by the way, if you've not caught up yet.
ITV have since released two behind the scenes videos that show us just how it was done.
First up, an interview with David himself, Jack P. Shepherd:
We like the bit where Jack says he "wasn't exactly Tom Cruise... but a close second".
Then there's a more in-depth video showing the one-take crash and everyone doing some Intense Soap Acting from different angles.
It's a good thing no one sneezed.
The events of last night's episode are sure to have huge ramifications for both the Street, and for David. Is he going to abandon his suicidal revenge plan[3] after nearly killing his daughter? Will anyone forgive him? How will Anna cope with her injuries?
You're just going to have to keep watching, aren't you?
